The SIS Program is a part of Red Door Services of the Hennepin County Public Health Clinic, Minnesota's largest HIV/STD testing center. Red Door Services can provide you with a full, low-cost (sliding fee scale, sort of a "pay what you can" system) STD check-up.
Remember that not all STDs have symptoms so it’s best if you make an annual STD check part of your routine. All our nurse practitioners are highly experienced women who will treat you with respect and dignity. Results and treatment (if required) are available immediately for most STDs.
HIV testing is available as part of an STD check-up or can be carried out alone by SIS. We offer the OraQuick HIV testing method which is 99.6% accurate and can give you results in only 20 minutes. Call 612.348.3307 for more information and/or to make an appointment.
See the Special Events page for testing events at other locations.
ONLINE PARTNER NOTIFICATION SERVICES
The Internet has increasingly become a place for people to meet sex partners in Minnesota. Internet hookups have also facilitated a number of new STD infections in the state. As a result, Red Door Services of the Hennepin County Public Health Clinic has partnered with an online software company to offer a new way for all people in Minnesota to notify partners of possible exposures to HIV and other STDs.
This online partner notification service is called InSPOT, and is an online service available to the entire state of Minnesota. InSPOT can be used to send an E-card to your sex partners notifying them that they may have been exposed to a particular STD and forwards them on to the InSPOT website for more information on the STD in question and clinics in their area to get tested and treated.
E-cards can be sent anonymously or with your e-mail included. The service is completely anonymous and your identifying information is not collected - only zip codes and very basic demographics are collected for funding purposes.
For more information about InSPOT partner notification services, contact the HIM Program at 612.348.9100 or send the HIM Program an email.
